 Ingredients required for this chocolate cake recipe are:

Dry:

€ All-purpose flour - 1 c

€ Coconut flour - c

€ Sifted cocoa powder - c

€ Baking soda - 1 spoon

 € Salt - 1 teaspoon

 € Ground cinnamon - teaspoon

€ Cayenne pepper - teaspoon


 Wet 

 € Coconut oil - c

€ Apple sauce - c

€ Water - 1 c

 € Coconut nectar - 2 c

€ Orange zest - 2 spoons

€ Mashed banana - 1

 € Coconut oil - 1 spoon Frosting

 € Sifted cocoa powder - 1 c

€ Orange juice - c

 € Coconut nectar - c

€ Orange zest - 1 spoon

€ Cayenne powder - teaspoon

€ Salt - 1 pinch

€ To serve - orange zest and c slivered almonds


Preparation: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C. Grease a spring-form cake tin with coconut oil and with baking paper line the sides and the base. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients and in a different bowl, combine all the wet ingredients. Into the wet mixture, slowly add the dry mixture. Keep whisking while you add and continue till it becomes smooth and well combined. Into the prepared tin, pour the batter and bake for 50 minutes. Then let it cool at room temperature. Onto a serving platter, turn the cake.

 Whisk all the ingredients for the frosting in a large bowl till the mixture becomes smooth. Pour this mixture over the cooled cake and with a spatula, spread it evenly. Top it up with silvered almonds and orange zest. 


Recipe 2 

This chocolate cake recipe is very simple and the most hassle-free cake to make.

 Ingredients required are

: € Self-rising flour - 1 c

€ Cocoa - 3 spoons

 € Butter - 250 grams

€ Caster sugar - c

 € Vanilla essence - 1 tsp

€ Eggs - 2 Icing

 € Sifted icing sugar - 1 c

€ Sifted cocoa - 1 tsp

€ A dash of milk € Butter - 2 tsp


 Preparation: Combine cocoa, flour, vanilla essence, melted butter and sugar in a bowl. Add eggs into it and mix together for 2 minutes. Pour this batter into a lined cake tin. Bake it at 160 degrees C for 35 minutes. If the cake springs back to the touch, then it is cooked.

 For the icing: Mix together cocoa, icing sugar, butter and milk in a bowl. Once the cake is cooled, spread this icing over the cake evenly.
